Coach Rick on the Son Rise Morning Show with Ryan Lopez: Living From Your Identity in Christ.

Who am I? Who is God? Do I know who I am? Do I know who God is?

These are the questions we must first ask in order to start living from our identity in Christ. Just think about it, how can one move forward without knowing where they are to begin with?

There are so many great places in Scripture to find these answers and to learn more about our identity in Christ. The gospel of Matthew, this story in chapter 16 gives us a deeper insight to our identity:

"When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”

Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”  Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.

But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” ... Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it."

Peter knew who Jesus was and he declared it. Only after he proclaimed this truth did Jesus then tell Peter who he was. Here Peter receives his identity in Christ.

Again we must ask ourselves - do I know who God is?

And then we must ask Him - Lord, who do you say that I am?

Lord, who do you say that I am? "Listen to the full show and learn more about what coaching is and some obstacles you might face while seeking to live from your identity in Christ.
